Friday Focus - Meet the Team
Meeting Reece, Sage House's Care Pathways Assistant Manager.
With Sage House and Daybreaks welcoming back a limited number of customers, we took the time to chat with Reece to talk about his excitement to see customers again and his role at Sage House.
What is your job role?
I’m the Care Pathways Assistant Manager at Sage House. So, my job is to manage the daybreaks service and organise the team. I ensure that all the paperwork and boring stuff is right. I even clean the toilets sometimes.
But most importantly, I work with customers and their families to make sure they get the most out of the service.
What did you do before coming to work for Dementia Support?
I was a senior health care assistant, and before that, I did A levels in health and social care and leadership and management.
Sage House has recently reopened with a limited number of customers able to return, but what was it like working at home rather than at Sage House?
With me being a people person and being used to delivering a face-to-face service, it made it very challenging to be at home. I often felt despondent because I didn’t feel I was doing enough over the phone to help compared to what I can do in person. But luckily, I’m back at Sage House now with some of our wonderful customers.
What are you most looking forward to about Sage House reopening?
It’s the hustle and bustle, the positive vibes, and the energy our customers bring. Most of all, its people being able to use the service in the way it was intended for.
What would be your dream meal? And who would you eat it with?
A meze selection of some kind with white wine. The wine has to be a sauvignon blanc from New Zealand and almost at the point of freezing...I seem to have focused more on the drink than the food!
I would choose to enjoy it with Lady Diana. She was amazing, and I feel she would really enjoy my choice for the meal.
