Friday Focus - The Power of Small
This week’s Friday Focus is the Power of Small.
It’s a comforting arm around your shoulder when things get tough. It’s your friend bringing over your favourite sweets just because they saw them and thought of you. It’s because small things make a huge difference in people’s lives.
As a charity, we don’t let our size prevent us from reaching those who need help when they are living with, or caring for, somebody with dementia.
That’s the power of small.
Time to Talk
The theme for the Time to Talk day this year is The Power of Small – something we know plenty about.
Time to Talk was launched in 2014 and is organised by Time to Change. The national campaign aims to change how we all think and act about mental health, led by charities Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. Time to Talk aims to get as many people as possible talking about mental health to end the stigma around it, stop the isolation and help those who are struggling. We know that a small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference.
What we have planned
We will be running a day of free, virtual talks and activities on the 4th of February all themed around the power of small. This includes talks around reminiscence, McLaren cars, yoga and a vintage music quiz hosted by special guests, Dawn and Amy Gracie.

We will also be taking apart of the Big Bird Weekend on the 29th – 31st of January to give you small moments of calm so you can take time for yourself. There will be a bird feeder making demonstration you can follow along with, bingo and bird watching all done over Facebook.
