Dementia Advice Bus

Speak to a Wayfinder where you are

Looking for information and advice about life with dementia?

Sage House's unique Wayfinding service is coming to a community near you; keep an eye on this page to see where our Dementia Advice Bus is heading next.

Our dementia advice bus offers practical information and emotional support during private appointments and drop-ins, to help you make sense of the journey ahead.

Thanks to SGN, our advice bus will be able to provide energy advice out in the community- helping more people to stay safe and warm at home.  This includes:

● Priority service register

● Locking cooker valves

● Carbon monoxide

● Energy affordability

What is a Wayfinder?

Dementia brings with it lots of questions, emotions and new responsibilities. Your Wayfinder is a familiar and friendly face, offering 1-1 advice, information and emotional support for those affected by dementia. They will stay with you through every stage of your dementia journey; you don't even need a diagnosis to access this free service. In our new Dementia Advice Bus, our Wayfinders will be visiting different locations throughout West Sussex to offer their support.

Can you help drive our bus?

Can you help us bring our vital dementia support out into the community?

We're looking for volunteers that are confident category B drivers to drive our Wayfinding Bus to various locations within West Sussex and Hampshire, and have the physical ability to set up the awning. At each venue the volunteer will also support our Wayfinders by making refreshments and handing out leaflets.
