Community Outreach - Yapton
Held every Thursday (excluding bank holidays) between 1:30pm and 3:00pm, the community outreach group at Yapton and Ford Village Hall, Main Road, Yapton, BN18 0ET, is a welcoming space where those living with dementia, along with their friends, family, or carer, can visit for an afternoon of activities, physical and mental stimulation, and socialising.
Meet your Outreach Coordinator

"With over 35 years’ experience in the care sector, I have worked across disabilities, mental health—including time at Broadmoor Hospital—and dementia care, managing day centres and care homes. I joined Sage House over three years ago and now work one day a week following semi-retirement, supporting outreach sessions and Daybreaks when needed. I am passionate about supporting people living with dementia and their loved ones, and outside of work I enjoy dance, music, singing and gardening, including lindy hop dancing with my husband.
"Yapton Outreach offers a variety of activities from quizzes to chair based exercise, games, craft, music and the occasional line dance teach and probably most importantly social interaction and support . We welcome individuals ( bereaved ) and couples alike. The group is a small social group who are very friendly and fun loving. I always ask the group if there is any activity they would like to do and ensure that I honour their request, after all it’s their session and important that they get the most from it. We also link up with the Wayfinders should any attendees need additional support." - Vee
