Dip for Dementia 2026

Updated: 5 hours ago

The 2026 Dip for Dementia was a resounding success, engaging both community members and corporate participants in support of our charity. This year’s event combined fundraising, awareness-raising, and networking, making it our most successful year since the campaign launched in 2024.

Fundraising Campaign

A JustGiving campaign was set up to promote the event online, and we used social media to encourage participation throughout February.

Corporate Event – Friday 27th February

To involve local businesses, we introduced a corporate element to the event. Dianne coordinated with local companies to encourage participation.

  • Venue: Rewild Sauna, Bracklesham – a slot was booked combining a sauna dip and coffee to create a relaxed networking atmosphere.

  • Participants:

    • Nick Shopland – NJS Group (plus six colleagues)

    • Silcom Recruitment Limited (3 participants)

    • Kristina – Bio Response

    • Nicollette – Pink Spaghetti PA Services

    • Jodie – De Mellow & Co

    • Annette – Taylor Made Financial Planning

Community Event – Saturday 28th February

The community dip took place at Felpham Beach and was led by Helen Godfrey, whose mother attends Day Breaks. Helen organised a team of four additional participants, all of whom created JustGiving pages to collect sponsorship. David White joined at the last minute and raised over £1,000 on his own.

Helen and David promoted their efforts locally with posters in shops and pubs, helping to increase awareness and support.

Overall Impact

The campaign attracted donations from 136 supporters, making 2026 the most successful Dip for Dementia to date.

Total funds raised: over £4,000

Summary

The combination of corporate and community participation, alongside effective online promotion and local engagement, contributed to a highly successful campaign. The

2026 Dip for Dementia not only raised significant funds but also strengthened connections with local businesses and the community, enhancing awareness of our charity’s work.
